  • Iphone not connecting to PC or syncing with PC

I had an issue with my Apple iPhone 6 Plus not syncing with my Windows 10 PC, I was trying to backup my phone but it would not sync in Itunes.  The phone was recognised by the PC as I was able to access the DCIM photos folder.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes and rebooting but still no joy.

    I found the solution here

There are a few options but the one that worked for me and the only method I tried was as follows:

Uninstall iTunes from a Windows PC

Through Control Panel on your PC, uninstall the following programs in the order shown:

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Bonjour
    5. Apple Application Support. (If two versions are listed, remove both.)

When all the programs have been uninstalled, reboot your computer and then reinstall iTunes.

After following the steps and installing each item individually I restarted and all of my iPhones 4S, 5C and 6S were recognised.

  • Del XPS8700 restarts Windows 8.1 and Critical Kernel-Power, Event ID 41, Task 63

My 6 month old Dell XPS8700 has been restarting regularly and I couldn’t figure out why, checking Windows Events I saw it was always the same error Critical – Kernel-Power and Event ID 41 and Task 63.

Upon researching this it seemed likely that the power supply was faulty, my surge protector was faulty or my socket was not ground properly.

In this forum I noticed this video posting which seemed to be an easy fix.

Simply go to power settings or search power, on the left of the window clock on Choose what the power buttons do, then click on Change settings that are currently unavailable, then simply uncheck Turn on fast startup.

  • HP L7780 All in One not printing

HP L7780 All in One was not printing, I had to download the HP Dr tool which “repaired” the printer queue which then allowed me to print.  This solution seems to work:

FYI- I’m using my L7780 via a wifi connection using WPA2 security and a static IP and network RAW printing to port 9100.  The printer always appears available via network pings but not to the print spooler.  As such, printer is always “grayed out” and disabled but will accept jobs into its queue.
After endless searching this is what appears to be working as a fix:  Turn off SNMP on printer port.
Printer Properties -> Ports Tab -> (Select Port) -> Configure Port -> uncheck “SNMP Status Enabled”
Hopefully this works for others- but I also found mention that others found a fix in toggling other settings such as “Enable bidirection printing” check box.  Who knows what seemingly unrelated software triggers this issue but it began one strange day and drove me crazy.
