Windows 7 Network Discovery issues
Windows 7 refused to connect to local PCs on the network saying network discovery was disabled and I need to turn it on. I turned it on and restarted but still no joy.
I tried several things including registry permissions but the issue was with windows firewall. I had to manually create a new rule to allow inbound predefined network discovery connections
Go to windows firewall>>advanced settings
Click on Inbound rules,on right side click on NEW RULE
Select PREDEFINED
Now select File and printer sharing and select NEXT
Similarly, do that for network discovery
