Windows Server 2022 no internet access on VPS

I am no server master but I have had many Windows VPS machines from Windows Server 2016 to 2025.

I had an issue using a special software (Xevil) not running on my Windows 2022 machine as Windows kept updating and the new security updates kept breaking the software by removing files. My previous post detailed how I stopped Windows Server 2022 from auto-updating.

After reinstalling Windows Server 2022 on the VPS, I noticed that I had issues accessing the internet but I had no idea why, I thought I messed the config.

I reinstalled Windows again and it still didn’t work.

I reached out to support and they said it could be a DNS issue but I wasn’t sure where to look.

I tried again today and thought I better check the adapter settings, I didn’t expect it to be that but indeed it was, the DNS entries were missing.

I have no idea why as I have never had to edit adapter settings on a VPS.

All I did was go to Network and Internet, Change Adapter Options, Ethernet (right click), click on TCPICv4 and at the bottom I added the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
